More Music Workdays With Annie Jenkins
Ok, we all got to work but it doesn’t have to be dull!
Put some energy in your workday by listening to Annie Jenkins from 10 until 3! The way Annie sees it is, “I don’t mind workin’ as long as it doesn’t feel like I’m working”.
And that’s the same way you’ll feel when you tune in to 1053 WJLT Monday thru Friday from 10 to 3! And the best part…you will not hear the same songs play over and over and over and over and over again ALLLLLLL DAY LONG.
AND…you’ll earn extra points in our Fun Club with the Word of the Day. Each weekday Annie calls out a new Fun Club Word of the Day between noon and 1pm. When you hear it, log on to SuperHits1053.com and type the word into your Fun Club account and you’ll get EXTRA POINTS to win PRIZES from 1053 WJLT!!!

Never was the word "shocking" more appropriate than when I heard the news Donna Summer had died after a long battle with lung cancer Thursday afternoon. (First the King of Pop, now the Queen of Disco?! Quickly, my childhood rock n' roll court is disappearing, I thought)
How many times had I played those Rhino records of hers blaring out of my parents living room window while practicing my backhand against the garage door? (truly, too many to count) Or danced myself silly while driving my parents nuts to the latest disco beat? (I'm still paying off the Tylenol bill)
The passing of Summer, 63, truly brings an end to the "disco era" which she helped bring to the forefront and evolve. Her beautiful melodies are timeless and her musical talents will stay with us forever. Here are the Classic Hits that made her "The Queen of Disco".

This incredibly silly woman with a long flower pot on her head is my mother. Yup, my mom. She's sweet, she's calm, she's annoying, she's funny and dagnabit she's always RIGHT! In honor of Mother's Day and my own mom, I put together 5 of my favorite mom phrases that my own mother used on me (and now I catch myself saying every day)
